For Lawson and Eliza

"If you'd turn in a few steps more

Along this path," the rainbow said.

You'd find what you are looking for.

"If I should walk a hundred days

I doubt I'd find it," said I with dread.

For I've trapped myself within my ways.

And so, I've walked these many years,

Scant few more shores are yet ahead

Searching on and on despite my fears.

That only I could ever know

To follow where the rainbow said

To see what it had tried to show.

I understand it now, I see

The value of the life I've led

I see it in their eyes; their glee.

Their very presence brings me joy

From now until the day I'm dead

I owe you, Lawson Duke and Eliza Joy.
